Part of
Swedish cultural treasures
Svenska Kulturpärlor is owned and operated by the Åström family. A family that has worked for tourism and hospitality in Sörmland since the mid-1980s. Today, Fredrik Åström is CEO of Svenska Kulturpärlor – a company with several pearls in Sörmland; Dufweholms Herrgård outside Katrineholm, Gripsholms Värdshus and Gripsholms Bed and Breakfast in Mariefred and Södertuna Slott outside Gnesta.

History
Good hospitality is inherited
In the 1980s, Göran and Emmy Åström, Fredrik's father and mother, took over the old, disused military hospital Plevnagården. Plevnagården was then renovated into a conference hotel, including the largest house move to date. Göran had Greta Garbo's green summer house moved there, which not only provided extra rooms for Plevnagården but also started a collection of historical buildings that still characterize the family today.
Today, Johanna Battaroff and Fredrik Åström run Svenska Kulturpärlor. They are passionate about historical things and places, and Fredrik has had a great interest in historical collections since childhood. This interest is reflected in all the pearls, where you will be met with historical charm and beautiful things. Among other things, you can view several of Fredrik's collections and museums.
